Pet Overpopulation

Updated: Dec 7, 2020

Every day more than 5,500 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are euthanized in

shelters across the country for the sole reason that there are not enough

homes for them. Be part of the solution to this national and local problem

by spaying or neutering your pet or keeping your intact dog within an enclosed

area. Euthanizing more than 2,000,000 homeless companion animals a year is

a tragedy that can easily be prevented. Even if you find a home for your

pet’s offspring, that means one less home available for a shelter animal.

Much of the trauma seen in a veterinarian’s office, such as dog fights,

being hit by a car, or being shot happens to intact male dogs. We can all

help end this unnecessary killing of homeless animals.
